About Me

Hello, my name is Tamara Morales (She/Her) and I have been married to my husband since 2000. My husband & I lived in Sacramento pre-children, but moved back to the El Dorado County area, where we both grew up, to raise our family closer to family. We have two lovely bambinas that keep us on our toes! In 2003 I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Sacramento State University with a BA in Psychology, have been a small business owner since 2003, and am happy to also be a work at home wife and momma.
I have always been open to alternative therapies and natural ways of dealing with lifestyle & health issues in conjunction with conventional science based medicine. I am an avid researcher and believe everyone should do as much for their health management as they can, while working with their medical care providers, by having informed choice & informed consent.
After our oldest was born I developed severe postpartum depression. I was on multiple medications and participated in weekly therapy sessions for over a year. It was a long hard road to recovery, but with support and self determination I eventually recovered. When we found out I was pregnant again it was a total shock and the first thing both my husband and I feared was that I would develop PPD again. I immediately started doing my research and found placenta encapsulation. I knew this would be my answer to a more enjoyable and better adjusted postpartum period.
Initially, my husband thought the whole placenta encapsulation idea was crazy, but my wishes to encapsulate came true, because once I birthed my placenta my husband asked the doctors, at Kaiser Morse, to bag it up and he ran it home and popped it in the freezer for me with little discussion. Ultimately he knew what needed to be done and supported me 100%. I appreciated this greatly and encapsulated my own placenta during my "babymoon". I experienced no PPD after my second birth and I cherished each of my capsules. Early on in my postpartum period, people often commented about how good I was doing and looking after recently having had a baby. Even strangers who knew nothing of my story noticed something of a postpartum glow, which I attribute mostly to my placenta capsules.
I can honestly say firsthand that placenta encapsulation worked for me and made a huge difference in this special time in my life. I was able to bond better with my newborn, had more energy, and felt amazingly well despite having a more complicated birthing time and a toddler to chase after too. I recommend that everyone should encapsulate their placenta and would be honored to encapsulate yours.
Although no longer affiliated with PBi, in 2009, I was trained and became a Certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist through Placenta Benefits.
I am a current Certified Placenta Arts Specialist (APPAC) with The Association of Placenta Preparation Arts (APPA) where in the past I have held positions of Chief of Development, Board of Contributors Member, Senior Mentor, & Renewal Liaison.
In order to offer the safest service possible I hold all applicable safety certificates for my industry and renew each annually.
Additionally, I am a past member of the El Dorado County Birth Professionals Collective, Better Birth Sacramento (no longer in operation), Valley Foothill Doula Collective (no longer in operation), & Capital City Doula Collective (no longer in operation as CCDC).
The Placenta Arts & Placenta Preparation are my passion and I am honored to serve my local greater Sacramento, CA area community as PlacentaMom.com!
